Metallic Cove

Our client’s family has been vacationing in the area for years but wanted to build a permanent place for their family to gather as their children grew. This lakefront cabin is new construction on Mooselookmeguntic Lake.

Natural Light

The client wanted the home to feel bright and modern, so we maximized the opportunities for natural light while taking advantage of the amazing views of the lake. The kitchen and living room boast numerous windows and a large sliding glass door. We kept the number of upper cabinets in the kitchen to a minimum to allow for even more windows. Sheetrock walls keep the space feeling light and airy.

Modern Cabin

To keep the home feeling like a Maine cabin, we added cabin-style accents throughout the home. The wood ceiling pays homage to more traditional, rustic camps. Other wood features include a Douglas Fir entry door and collar ties, a walnut island top, and pine framing around the doors and windows. We utilized a non-yellowing polyurethane gloss to keep the pine modern and fresh.

Intentional Details

Our client wanted the cabin to be both beautiful and easy to maintain. Coretec floors are both durable and comfortable. We added extra framing to support large floating bathroom vanities that provide plenty of storage while being easy to clean underneath. The master bathroom boasts an ADA-accessible shower with a linear drain. The home features Crown Select custom cabinets and lighting from Rejuvenation.
